Jamison Residence
the Sacred, Cool, Eco Home

The site is an amazing quarter acre on a dead end street adjacent to a city-owned 14 acre green space in SE Portland. The clients wanted to incorporate a clean, modern aesthetic with sustainable features in a home that would be a sanctuary from their busy schedules.

Erez Russo Architect PC located the new ‘eco-home’ and office along the widest part of the lot facing due south with an unobstructed view of the green space. Operable glass walls facing south completely open the house to the site. Winter sun can reach every room inside the narrow floor plan while the deep overhangs block direct solar gain in the summer. Inside, an open plan incorporates a great room, kitchen, mudroom and three bedrooms with two baths in an efficient 1,600 s.f., two story structure. The 150 s.f. office is detached. The work space was designed to be accessed across an exterior deck so the house could remain a calm retreat.
